The ambitious journey of 26 consecutive marathons from December 1st through the 26th has officially begun for ultra runners Dave Carlsson and Jason Lester. With the goal of promoting health and wellness to fight homelessness and obesity in Honolulu, the duo will be running a total of 681.2 miles.
The pair will begin their marathon daily at 5PM at Ala Moana Beach Park (Magic Island) and are inviting local runners to partake in all or part of their daily runs. Prior to the start of each day’s run they will serve dinner at 4PM to the park’s homeless using the funds they raised at the previous evening’s run and from the generous online donations.
Carlsson is co-founder of the Hawaii Running Project, an organization focused on fighting homelessness and obesity through running and fitness, and Lester is an ESPN EPSY award winner, author of Running on Faith and founder of the Never Stop Foundation.
