Tom Coughlin Used Cross Country Runner To Inspire New York Giants

Tom Coughlin has been motivating young athletic minds since the early 70’s. He worked his way up through the ranks, putting in stints at The Rochester Institute of Technology, Syracuse (his alma mater), and Boston College before making the jump to the NFL. We love the fact that Coughlin chose a cross-country video to inspire his tough as nails football team before battling for a ticket to the 2012 Super Bowl.

Punter, Steve Weatherford was clearly inspired by the female cross-country runner. “It’s a pretty cool video, and for us, we don’t want or need anybody to help us. We’re self-sufficient within this locker room. And everybody’s hungry…we all have the effort and want-to finish strong.”

For our Canadian Readers, Coughlin coached CFL great Doug Flutie while at Boston College.
