Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Japan

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Japan

Eleven days following the Tokyo Marathon, Japan has been devastated by the largest earthquake in its history. At 2:46 pm on Friday, an 8.9 earthquake hit Northern Japan triggering a 13-foot tsunami that rushed through the Miyagi prefecture.  Television footage was frightening, showing cars, boats, buildings and other large debris being swept away.

The quake’s epicenter was 231 miles northeast of Tokyo; however, residents felt significant tremors as a result and buildings were reported to have shaken for up to a minute.

Tsunami warnings have been issued for the pacific coast of Japan as well as Guam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia and the state of Hawaii.

No statistics on damages or fatalities have been reported at this time.

Please keep Japan in your prayers during this very difficult time.
