Shortly after The U.S. Olympic Trials, we reported that Meb, 36, became the oldest man to win The U.S. Olympic Trials. Not only that, he did it in fine fashion, setting a personal best of 2:09:08.
According to Boston.com, Meb said, the secret to setting personal bests at his age was doing all the so-called little things outside of running – such as ice baths, stretching, and building core strength.

We have seen first hand that Meb’s post-run routine is lengthy and methodical. There is not doubt that you will find Meb following his run with his rope performing his active isolated stretching before he immerses himself (without flinching) in a frozen stream in Mammoth Lakes.

Below are two of my favourite videos of Meb and ‘the rope’. The first video is Meb talking about the significance of the rope and receiving treatment, while the second video is Meb stretching while being interviewed following his win at the 2011 San Jose Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon.
