Registration for the inaugural Pelee Island Winery Half Marathon (June 2nd) opened early this morning and registrations are pouring in.If you’re looking for a “running getaway” next summer, don’t miss out of this unique opportunity to run one of the most remote races in the world, on Pelee Island, located on Lake Erie.
The 21 km course takes runners around the perimeter of the island and through one of Canada’s oldest grape growing regions, before finishing at the Pelee Island Winery–the community’s main hub during the fair weather months.
Participants will flock from all over for this experience, and despite running 21km, will leave feeling more refreshed having been wined and dined “island style”. Participants will arrive by boat, ferry or private plane and will enjoy accommodations at one of the island’s quaint cottages, bed & breakfasts or quiet camping grounds.
Registration includes a great Wine-inspired Tech Shirt, medal, bib and a ticket to the After-Run Party and Wine Tasting. The event is limited to 300 runners and is expected to sell out in days.
