How Important is Your Stride Rate?

In an article featured on Saucony’s blog, one of the world’s most renown running coaches, Jack Daniels, PhD. explains that counting the number of steps you take per minute could prevent injuries and take your performance to the next level. Isn’t that what we are all hoping for in 2013, an injury free year full of personal bests?

About your running turnover, Daniels recommends a stride rate of 180 steps per minute or 90 steps per foot. He says to “imagine you are running over a field of raw eggs and you don’t want to break any of them; be light and quick with your leg turnover.”
