A new study conducted at Virginia Tech has shown that a couple glasses of water before a meal can significantly increase one’s chances of shedding a few pounds.
After years of expensive pills and fancy diets, plain old water has come to the rescue. Water not only fills the stomach, but more importantly, replaces many of the sugary, high calorie drinks consumed on a daily basis. In combination with a balanced meal plan, you could be on your way to a new YOU!
In an earlier study, the Virginia Tech research group discovered that the two glasses of water before a meal reduced the total caloric intake of that meal by 75 calories. Over the course of a day, that is well over 200 calories. In combination with the 400 calories of beverage consumption (national average), we could be looking at a 600 calorie a day turn around simply by drinking water. That adds up to a whopping 4,000 + calories per week! To lose one pound, there must be an approximate caloric deficit of 3,500 calories.
Do the math and drink water.
