New Balance is so confident in the design of their latest lightweight racing shoe that they are claiming they may have created the “perfect racing flat” and are promoting the 1400 with the words… “Travel at the Speed of Light”.

The 1400s were inspired by the New Balance 890s training shoe and share some similar features such as the use of REVlite technology and their “no-sew” welded seams. The REVlite technology used throughout the midsole of the shoe claims to be 30% lighter than foams of comparable performance and the welded seams on the toe box and sides keep the shoe flexible while minimizing weight.
