Let’s talk safety!
This morning I left the house just after 6 AM to embark on my long run. As per usual, I kissed my hubby as I got out of bed, told him where I was headed, and when I should return. “Going to do the Dammit Run” I said. He cracked open one very concerned looking eye, and muttered “Be careful”. Let me explain, the Dammit Run is a classic trail that climbs up about two miles to ‘Inspiration Point’ where you can get a clear view of the San Francisco Bay, it’s stunning; however, en route you cover some pretty rugged terrain, and pass your fair share of signs warning of mountain lions and other threatening wildlife. As always, I tell my husband not to worry and head out the door, deep down knowing what I’m about to do isn’t exactly safe.
Road I.D.’s come in the form of bracelets, anklets, and shoe straps, and can be laser engraved with your emergency contact information. The latest Road I.D. Interactive allows you to create an updateable emergency response profile online. The site is listed along with your other information on your bracelet, allowing first responders to access your profile and administer appropriate care.
In the unlikely event of an accident, where you can’t speak for yourself, your Road I.D. could save your life. This is definitely a worthwhile investment that ranges from $19.99-$29.99.
