5 Reasons to Participate in The Project Hope 5K

Get the most out of your summer training efforts and finish off the season with a NEW 5K in London, Ontario. This run/walk promises to be one of a kind, complete with hay rides and face painting!

1.      Raising Funds for World Class Research!

By participating in Project Hope you are helping raise funds and awareness for world class research, taking place in London, Ontario at the Bethanys Hope Foundation Leukodystrophy Laboratory.  Under the direction of Dr. Tony Rupar, of Western University the Research team has made incredible strides in looking into a cure for Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). Clinical trials are in the foreseeable future.  Now - more than ever – each dollar raised gets us one step closer to putting an end to this terrible disease

2.      Beautiful Course!

You have the opportunity to enjoy the Fall season as you take to a 5K Walk, Run or Roll course that begins and ends in Harris Park and travels along the iconic Thames River.  Enjoy a beautiful fall day and take in the very best that London, Ontario has to offer.

3.      Not just your regular Fundraiser!

Project Hope is more than just your every day fundraiser.  This is an all inclusive event that will be a celebration of those who support the Bethanys Hope Foundation.  The day will not just include the 5K Walk, Run or Roll, but also have activities for the entire family to enjoy – from arts & crafts, hay rides, face painting, a yoga garden and so much more.  We invite you to spend the day, bring your family and get to know your fellow participants!

4.      An all inclusive 5K!

This 5K is for everyone!  Whether you are the most experienced runner, a causal walker or would like to ride your bike or roll in your wheelchair, we welcome everyone who wishes to take part.  For our runners we have a certified course that will be chip timed.  Our walkers can enjoy a leisurely stroll and do as much of the course as they would like.  Furthermore, for those using wheels rest assured you will not be out of place and will have access to the course.  Project Hope is for everyone with the understanding that the entire goal is to raise awareness of the work being done by the Bethanys Hope Foundation and raise funds to support finding a cure for Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).

5.      Be a part of Something Bigger!

Project Hope – London is the start of a national campaign, which will begin rolling across Canada in 2013.  By joining in on October 13th, you can say you participated in the first 5K Walk, Run or Roll, that kicked off a campaign across Canada.  Help the Bethanys Hope Foundation start this journey in a grand way, while showing everyone the spirit that makes London, Ontario so great!
